JOB TITLE: Training Specialist
REPORT TO: VP of Training and Development
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: BPG Headquarters, Eden Prairie MN
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Partner with clients, operation groups, key management team and other trainers, to provide comprehensive training for processes and applications. Responsible for designing, developing and implementing training to ensure the users' needs are met. Responsible for tracking and measuring participation and effectiveness.
Clients cover a wide range of industries.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Become knowledgeable on BPG processes and applications; create and maintain relationships with key subject matter experts.
Work with the VP of Training and other key business partners to understand the current and future processes and applications. Understand how the users apply the processes and applications to their jobs. Develop a system to stay informed of project plan changes.
B. Determine performance needs and design training plan
Based on knowledge of current and future BPG processes/applications and input from the key business partners, determine the best training approach for all users. Understand the impact of the changes to the users and create a plan to include the change management issues. Create short-term and long-term strategies to meet the performance needs through the use of BPG's Performance Solutions Cube.
C. Develop training materials
Develop, in conjunction with production staff, the appropriate training materials, which will include a participant-centered blended learning approach. This will include classroom training materials, train-the-trainer materials for international partners, job aids, etc. Also, assist with the development and review of web-based training tools (both synchronous and asynchronous methods).
D. Implement training
Facilitate classroom training and/or implement communication tools as necessary with existing and/or new BPG process and/or application.
E. Evaluate training
Evaluate the short and long-term effectiveness of BPG training. As appropriate, design evaluations measuring the user's response to training, the learning and application that takes place and the impact of the training on BPG's process.
F. Partner with BPG Sales staff to develop performance solutions and proposals for current and potential BPG clients.
G. Partner with BPG marketing staff in following up program attendees.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements
· 4-year college degree
· Ability to travel 35 - 60%
· Graduate of BPG's Boot Camp or equivalent with two year's experience in applying the content to real world situations
· Strong understanding of participant-centered, instructor-led processes and systems; experience in training and development, consulting
· Ability to execute and deliver results
· Ability to establish strong rapport with partners
· Ability to design, develop and deliver synchronous and asynchronous training
· Strong consulting/impacting abilities
· Excellent project management skills
· Strong problem solving abilities
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Experience consulting with executives
· A desire to learn adult learning principles and curriculum development
Desired Requirements
· Masters Degree
· Curriculum development skills
· Experience in designing and delivering webinars
· Web based design tools experience (Camtasia, Adobe Suite, Captivate, etc)
REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
· Reports to VP of Training and Development
· Works in coordination with other Training Consultants and Instructional Designers
· Partners and consults with management and team members of key areas that impact public and in-house programs, both domestically and internationally
· Works with technical team for technical support as needed for web based training
Salary range for this position is $45,000 to $70,000 depending on experience
